Privacy policy

We use visit data to improve Qontex: what you search for, what you cannot find and which extensions you view. Measurement starts automatically when you visit the website. Below, we explain what we record and how it works.

What we record

  • Which pages you view and which website brought you to Qontex.
  • Which links and buttons you use. For example, when you open an extension, visit its maker’s website or click a copy button.
  • What you enter in the search box and how many results your search returns. We store the search text itself, including searches that find nothing.
  • What you enter under ‘Missing an extension?’ at the bottom of the home page.
  • A recording of your visit that lets us replay how you use the website. It shows the pages you view, your clicks and the text you type. Text entered in the search box is also recorded and is not masked.

Where the data is processed

We use PostHog for analytics and recordings. Your browser sends the data through our own connection on Cloudflare to PostHog Cloud EU in Frankfurt. We use it to understand how visitors use Qontex and where the website can improve.

What we store in your browser

  • Your language choice, so Qontex opens in your chosen language on your next visit.
  • A random PostHog visitor ID, stored in cookies and your browser’s local storage. It lets us recognise the same browser on a later visit and link visits together. The ID is not your name, but it does distinguish your visits from other visitors’ visits. Qontex currently has no setting to turn these measurements off.
